The Tale of the Little Feather that Became the World’s Best Shuttlecock!
You might have heard of the famous
Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen.
In one of his fairy tales, It’s Quite True, one feather grows into five hens.
It’s a tale of how a rumour grows and grows,
and ends up as quite a different story.
We ourselves feel that the RSL story is almost like a fairytale. And in any case, it is a story about a feather that turned into so many million shuttlecocks, that as the world’s leading and greatest manufacturer
we gave up counting long ago.
It all started in 1928 in London, Reinforced
Shuttlecocks Ltd.
There’s the explanation for the abbreviation.
For more than 50 years the world famous shuttlecocks were manufactured at the factory in Kent, but in 1980 the production was moved to China after the establishment of a partnership with D.H.Shuttlecocks Group.
The Head Office is located in Hong Kong today, but RSL Europe is managed from Denmark, not far from H.C. Andersen’s birthplace in the city of Odense. Also we are growing to Eastern Europe, and baltic states.
Over the years RSL Europe has built a solid sales network based on loyalty and continuity and based on many of the same agents for many many years. Actually, we have grown accustomed to regarding ourselves as one big family.
Our core competence is our ability to control the entire supply chain, from feather selection and production till sales and distribution.
Our ambition is to be the innovative player on the shuttlecock market who takes the lead within product development and automation of the entire production. Only this way we can ensure the best quality, stability and
play-related characteristics of our shuttlecocks.
In recent years RSL Europe has experienced a substantial growth in Europe, and the continously ongoing product development of our shuttlecocks, rackets and clothing will make RSL an even stronger partner in the future.
Therefor, the rumour is that we intend to continue the RSL Tale the best way we can in a mutual and trusting cooperation with suppliers, sales
agents and badminton associations.
